I started out by painting signs while in high school, but the fields of illustration, graphic design are what captivated me. Way back when, growing up in rural California I never imagined I would have a chance to do work for publishers or magazines. In my home town I thought my only way to be an artist was to paint signs.

Now with 30 plus years of working in the field of art, I have come to realize that my growth as an artist depended on me learning to constantly expand my understanding of design and its many different disciplines. In most ways computer software has afforded me that luxury, but the rest has been a life-long appreciation of design.
